The Akaname, a.k.a. Akaneburi or "Filth-Licker", is a grotesque species of small humanoid yōkai from Japan, which are well-known for their extremely long tongues.
Traditionally, these creatures are said to frequent bathhouses and, true to their name, use their tongues to lick and feed upon the filth accumulated in such places. They're also typically portrayed with a single claw on each foot.
Although harmless onto themselves, their unpleasant appearance and habits are usually enough to stimulate people into cleaning their bath-places in order to avoid attracting such visitors.
