Alfur Aldric is an Elf scribe and one of the supporting characters in the graphic novel series and Netfilx animated series, Hilda.
A citizen of the Elf Kingdom; Alfur describes himself as being more of a writer than a fighter, and like all his race, seems to be obsessed with records, documents and paperwork in general.
He was the first Elf to befriend Hilda.
Biography[]
Like all Elves, Alfur and his village are only visible to those who have signed the proper forms. Hilda and her mother Johanna; who lived in the forest valley, weren't even aware of the existence of the Elf village surrounding their house. That was until the Elves' recently-elected Prime Minister promised his people that he would get rid of the humans.
The Elves; who'd had enough of Hilda and Johanna accidentally stepping on their village; repeatedly trashed the humans' house in an attempt to forcefully evict them; causing Johanna to consider moving to the nearby city of Trolberg. To try to prevent this, Hilda left messages to the invisible people asking them to stop.
Feeling that the humans deserved a chance at negotiations, Alfur visited Hilda at night and allowed her to sign the contract that enabled her to see the Elves and their village. He also arranged her a meeting with the Prime Minister; and even went as far as to disregard protocol by helping her meet the Elf King. Eventually, peace was finally obtained between the Elves and humans.
In a rather ironic twist, however, Hilda herself had her house destroyed by a Giant who stepped on it by accident, and was forced to move to Trolberg anyway, along with her mother and Twig. Alfur decided that he would come along as well, taking up the opportunity to write valuable records about the human city and how life was conducted there. As such, he became a sort of emissary of his people and one of Hilda's closest friends and allies.
