Altaria is a Dragon/Flying-type Pokémon species, whose juvenile stage is known as Swablu, which is a Normal/Flying-type. When exposed to the Mega Stone known as Altarianite, it temporarily transforms into Mega Altaria, which is a Dragon/Fairy-type.
Biology[]
Altaria is an avian creature with blue feathers (yellow in its shiny variant) and fluffy white wings which appear to be made of cotton. They often keep these wings wrapped around their bodies to keep themselves warm. In sunny days they use their wings to ride upon updrafts and soar high up in the skies.
With its beautiful high-pitched singing voice, Altaria is also known as the Humming Pokémon, and it's said that its songs can induce a pleasant dream-like state in the listener.
Swablu[]
Altaria's juvenile form, Swablu, stands 40 cm in height and weighs 1.2 kg. It's a round-shaped blue bird and known for its habit of cleaning dirty surfaces with its cotton-like wings. After it's done, it washes its wings in streams and rivers to keep them clean. Swablus are very unafraid of humans and will often rest on people's heads like a hat. At spring, flocks of Swablus move closer to city areas to find food, as they have just endured through winter.
