Amal is the childhood friend of Aladdin who after being adopting, became El Khatib; a Shadow Walker.
History[]
An orphan born Agrabah and like Aladdin, Amal started off as a street rat who stoled from other people until when he was abducted as a child by an El Khatib: a magical beast working as a minion of Mirage who had sensed evil within him which in turn, he'd been ultimately transformed into one himself. Whereas over the years, Amal became more monster and thus less human. After Amal returned to Agrabah on the third night of a full moon, he seek Wahid, another street rat and thief who he brought to Mirage but when Aladdin and his friends came to rescue him, Amal had Aladdin in his grasp that Mirage order him to finish the letter off. However, Amal finally realized that what he'd been doing was wrong and came to his own senses as he refused to kill Aladdin since they're both friends.
Once the portal upon sunrise, all the El Khatib were destroyed expect Amal his left arm had returned to normal when Genie pointed out, was because since he wouldn't harm Aladdin, Amal was therefore not worthy of being an El Khatib after all. Having redeemed himself, Amal knew he needed to do more good things in order to restore the rest of his humanity and left so he could find a better purpose in life.
