Aneru are blind cave serpents only recorded as being found within palaces. They appear to fill the same niche as the Land Octoroks on the surface, even going so far as to spit rocks like they do. Possessing vaguely cobra-shaped heads with huge mouths filled with needle-like teeth, perhaps indicating a natural diet of fish. Unlike their far more mobile cousins, the Ropes, the Aneru do not move much although they will still move around.
Like Land Octoroks, Aneru can be assumed to possess a crop, which they would store stones in for spitting purposes.

A Red Aneru.
A variant of Aneru known as Red Aneru exist within the Great Palace, which spit molten fireballs instead of regular rocks. This fire is unblockable by shields and might be magical in nature, as they can only be reflected by Reflect spells. Perhaps because of the power behind their fiery spittle (though possibly the other way around), these Red Aneru do not move around in the face of opposition.
Appearances[]
- Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (First appearance)
Notes[]
- In a departure from the usual standards in the game, where the blue monsters are the strongest, the Red Aneru are stronger.
