Baba is a young Troll who was temporarily turned into a human when she and Hilda were both placed under a changeling spell by her own mother, Trylla.

Baba, when she was under the changeling spell.
Overview[]
As a Troll, Baba appears alike all other members all members of the species a part from her (normally shaped) nose. When she was turned into a human, her appearance hadn't changed by much except she by then had a pinkish-colored pigment and her feet developed toes. While curiously, her head still remained hairless like in her Troll form.
History[]
Being a lone Troll, Baba lived an isolated life in the mountains near Trolberg with her own mother, who worried about her child growing up in such a rough environment filled with unfriendly neighbors.
While giving shelter to Hilda, Johanna and Twig as the three of them were lost inside the mountain, Baba's mother witnessed Hilda's desire for greater freedom and Johanna's protective nature. As soon as they returned home, she performed the changeling spell and magically switched her own child with Hilda. As a result, while Hilda became a Troll, Baba herself became a human after being teleported to Johanna's house in Hilda's place.
Baba's mother later regretted this decision, and although Johanna took good care of Baba for the next days, she didn't stop looking for Hilda. The spell was ultimately broken as soon as the girls were both reunited with their own mothers; and remained friends afterwards as they continued to visit each other periodically.
