The Bakunawa is a moon-eating Sea Serpent that appears in Filipino mythology. It has been infamously known for causing eclipses.
Overview[]
It appears to be a giant sea serpent with a mouth the size of a lake, red tongue, whiskers, gills, small wires at each of its sides, and two sets of wings, one is large and while the other is small and is found further down its body. In pre-colonial era Philippines, the natives believe there are seven moons created by Bathala to light up the sky.
