Bartholomew is a giant monstrous creature who escaped from Dr. Happy's lab. Despite his fearsome appearance and roar, he's actually quite friendly. After escaping, he felt lonely, but was ultimately befriended by local animals Simba, Timon and Pumbaa, after they learned not to fear him. The animals taught Bartholomew their Hakuna Matata philosophy, which he seemingly enjoyed.
Biology[]
Bartholomew appears as a chimeric being, with a body built similar to a simian Godzilla, with a long reptilian tail and a fur-covered neck and head. He has a rooster-like crest, a moose-like face, short walrus-like tusks and a pair of bull-like horns. Timon describes him as 40 ft tall.
Appearances[]
- Timon and Pumbaa - s01e12 - "Shake Your Djibouti" (1995)
Notes[]
- Although Timon offhandedly describes Bartholomew as 40 ft tall, in some scenes he appears much smaller than that. It is a common occurrence in animation that very large characters tend to fluctuate in size between shots.
