Bartholomew Byfard Boo, better known simply as Mr. Boo, is a friendly ghost who inhabits the attic of the Johnsons' house in Coolsville. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are aware of his presence and don't mind it, since Mr. Boo is so polite and harmless.
Mr. Boo claims that he's bound to the Johnsons' house, and that if the house was destroyed, he would "go poof". This suggests that he might be closer to a poltergeist or boggart than a traditional ghost.
History[]
When the alleged ghost of BooBeard started haunting the place, the Johnsons believed that Mr. Boo had gone bad and planned to sell the house. Mr. Boo then hired the Scooby-Doo Detective Agency to solve the case, because the people interested in buying the house were planning to demolish it and construct another building; an act which would put an end to Mr. Boo's existence, as a spirit bound to that house particularly.
Appearances[]
- A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, s01e10, "Ghost Who's Coming to Dinner" (1988)
Notes[]
- Mr. Boo is the only real ghost featured in A Pup Named Scooby-Doo.
- Chronologically, he might not be the first real monster that Shaggy and Scooby met, but he's probably the first that they befriended.
