This new kind of Beaver (Castor sp.) evolved about 50 million years in the future, and dwells in freshwater environments of the Northern Continent. Their lifestyle is similar to modern beavers, but their morphology has changed, especially in regards to the hindlegs, which have fused with the tail to form a single, paddle-like structure, while still retaining their powerful claws to help it climb tree trunks while foraging for food and building materials.
