Behemoth is the name of a Biblical giant beast, whose appearance is never described in detail. It is mentioned alongside the sea-going Leviathan, with both being presented as destructive and uncontrollable by mortals. Among the few things revealed about the Behemoth is that it eats grass and possesses a tail that moves "like a cedar". Some depictions have portrayed it as similar to a monstrous elephant or hippopotamus. The name itself has become synonymous with "giant monster". The etymologically-similar "Bahamut" is the name of a giant fish that supports the Earth in Arabian mythology.
