Borneo Anacondas are the main antagonists of the 2004 adventure horror film Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid.
History[]
In the beginning, a Borneo Anaconda attacks a hunter in the jungle, but he tried to escape and falls into river, presumably eaten by another anaconda.
Years later, dozens of male Anacondas come out of their territories during a mating season to find a female in her pit. However, a team of pharmaceutical researchers consisting of Dr. Jack Byron, Gordon Mitchell, Sam Rogers, Gail Stern, Cole Burris, Dr. Ben Douglas, and their guides Bill Johnson and Tran Wu, go on a expedition in the area, looking for the blood orchid, a flower which could stop aging. While Bill's pet monkey Kong was spending the night in the jungle, he was chased by a male Borneo Anaconda but luckily escapes and goes back to the boat. The next morning, one of the multiple Borneo Anacondas devour a dead crocodile. Another day, a snake devours Ben, but the team flee. Later, another anaconda prevents Bill's friend John Livingston for saving the team and devours him.
While Gordon was paralyzed by Jack with a poisonous spider, an anaconda appears and devours him. The team still go into the jungle and looking for exit, they are attacked by another anaconda who eats Tran before being killed by Sam. Another anaconda soon appears and almost kills Cole, but he is saved by Bill, who kills the snake with his knife.
The team later finds the blood orchids above the pit where the male anacondas are mating with the female. Jack orders Sam to obtain the orchids and threats her to death using his gun, but when she gives the backpack to Jack, he is paralysed by the spider, causing him to fall into the pit and to be eaten by snakes. Female anaconda almost eat the team, but Gail tricks her into biting a fuel container and Cole shoots with the gun, causing several rocks falling and crushing anacondas to death.
Notes[]
- In real life, anacondas are natives to South America, not Borneo.
