Brindled Men, or the Sothoryi are the native people of the continent of Sothoryos.
Overview[]
Described by Maester Yandel of Westeros, the natives have brown skinned muscled bodies, long arms, sloped square shaped teeth, black hair, and noses that are more hog like than humans; indicating that the brindled men are not entirely humans similar to the Ibbenese from Northern Essos.
The North Sothoryis are suppose to be a less aggressive people of the continent and have a trade to the outside world including Slaver's Bay where they would become slaves and pit fighters. While their far southern counterparts are much worse in comparison where they pray to their dark gods, slaughter and eat each other, and perform obscene rites.
The Brindled Men were known to have destroyed Valyria's first colony in the Basilisk's Isles and driven out or destroyed other races of Sothoryos.
In A Dance of Dragons, the Sothoryis are one of the pit fighters that came to fight to the death in Daznak's Pit reopened by Daenerys Targaryen.
