A giant man-eating bug creature was created as a result of genetic experiments conducted aboard an American research vessel in the Pacific ocean; and soon gave birth to an entire swarm of voracious isopod-like juveniles which invaded the coasts of China.
Biology[]
The adult bug is a large creature that can swallow a human being whole. It walks on two pairs of legs, while the first pair is smaller and not used for locomotion. A tentacular inner mouth can be extended like a tongue from within the beast's primary mouth, and is used to get into smaller spaces in search of hidden prey and grasp them. The creature has been demonstrated to be highly resistant to bladed weapons, but vulnerable to electricity; and it can be decapitated by a chainsaw.
Juveniles[]
The juvenile spawn of this monster doesn't bear any resemblance to the adult form. Instead, the juveniles appear as beetle-sized isopods which can survive just as well in the sea as in dry land. They congregate in huge swarms and travel great distances in search of prey. They can cling to walls, and dig underneath the sand to surprise potential victims; as well as crawl under the skin of their victims and violently burst out. Individually, they can be easily dealt with by being squished; whereas fire has been demonstrated to be effective against the swarm as a whole.
