Cryptids is the name applied to creatures which are rumored to be real, usually because they have been spotted by several people on different occasions, but of which there is no conclusive evidence proving their existence. Well known examples would be the Yeti and the Loch Ness Monster, though there are many other, less well known cryptids out there.
