Phototrophs

Creatures which derive energy from light by means of photosynthesis. The source of light is usually sunlight, although moonlight and starlight aren't unheard of.

In real life, there exist life forms (bacteria) which can perform infrared photosynthesis, requiring only a source of heat rather than visible light.
