Chao (pronounced as "chow") are a species of small flying creatures from Sonic the Hedgehog.
Biology[]
They are blue fairy-like creatures with teardrop-shaped heads, and pink butterfly-like wings. Their hands and feet lack visible digits. Unlike most animals, which evolved naturally, Chao were allegedly created by the Master Emerald of Angel Island, and are made up of Chaos Energy.
Reproduction[]
Chao lay eggs which, of course, hatch into Chao. Since they have no genders, they are an asexual species, meaning they do not need a mate to reproduce.
Diet[]
Their diet mainly consists of fruit, including special kinds that can cause them to evolve into special stages.
