Overview[]

A viking leader, the Chieftain along With his wife Rikka and two sons lived an average life among a tribe; whose purpose involved to capture people thus keep them as their slaves. However, all that changed after when he and his eldest son Eldar had returned to the island with some more captives only for them both to discover a single boat missing from the docks which Spear, Fang and Mire used to escape thus found nothing but a flesh trail of blood. Immediately, they both rushed off towards the village and found it shrouded in a thick red mist, with no traces of tribesmen. They soon came across the body of a Viking being pecked at by crows; as they inspected it, the mists cleared to reveal that the entire settlement had been slaughtered. Within a sudden panic, the Chieftain checked his hut; finding nobody inside, he then ran out into the village to search for his wife, Rikka only to find her body amongst the others before Eldar arrived with the corpse of his younger brother in his arms. Sombrely confirming their passing, the Chieftain embraced Eldar in their own shared loss.

The two vikings proceeded towards burying all their dead tribesmen within a crypt which they then sealed off using a large boulder before releasing their captured slaves and preparing a funeral for their departed family members. The Chieftain nocked the arrow meant to burn the makeshift funeral boat, but was unable to loosen it in his grief, letting Eldar do this deed. With the boat and the remains of the village set aflame, the two set out on a new mission to exact vengeance upon their clan and family’s assailants.

Eventually, the Chieftain and his son had managed to track down their stolen boat that Spear, Fang, and Mira had taken. Father and son fought with them in a furious rage to avenge both their tribe and family, until when Eldar fell into the river and the Chieftain dove in after him to save him from drowning. After making it ashore and confirming his son was alive, he started a fire and waited for his son to awake, until a mysterious horned entity appeared in the fire, which awakened him and he saw his son had returned with a deer for them to eat.

While as they feast, the father and son affirmed their resolve for revenge and planned a new strategy. On the following day, the Chieftain and his son Eldar scaled a mountain top and forcefully tamed two giant vultures in a last-ditch effort to attack Spear, Fang, and Mira and carry out their revenge. They flew off and tracked the trio down once more. But once again, Spear and Mira gained the upper hand. Spear bit the Chieftain's hand and threw him off into the forest, severely injuring him. Although he survived the fall, he witnessed Spear pushing Eldar off and fell to his death on a boulder near a river. The Chieftain swam to the other side to check on his son, but it was too late. His only remaining family member was gone too. Now with nothing truly to live for, the Chieftain felt stricken with grief thus gives up and lets himself get swept away by a river.

Roughly sometime, the Chieftain had washed ashore and is gravely wounded. He slowly succumbs to his injures as he awaits the three valkyries from the sky to arrive and take him. But suddenly, these goblin-like demons grabbed the Chieftain and drag him down into fiery depths of an underground instead. The Chieftain is then brought before a mighty and ominous being. The terrifying figure gives the Chieftain the opportunity exact vengeance on Spear and Fang. With his mind and heart tainted by his inner demon, uncontrolled anger, and lust for vengeance, the Chieftain agrees with this apparent newfound master's offer and therefore, was transformed into a large, fiery golem-like creature before being ultimately returned to the mortal world while in this new form.

After he arrive back on the surface, the Chieftain sooner tested out his new form just to see how powerful he now is; enable to summon a Dane axe made literally from magma and delivered a massive strike against the ground. Impressed by his new powers, he lets out a monstrous roar of vengeance and had begun his hunt for Spear, Fang and Mira. When reaching a river, he somehow realized that they’d left by boat once again and began to march forth downstream in a direct pursuit. This hunt had taken at least several days and nights while wondering across open ocean until he finally reached an island being where Mira's village is located.

The Chieftain attacks and kills a herd of camels. Spear and Fang ran off to take him on, although they were both terrorized by his monstrous appearance. Within a blind rage, he begins to attack them with his demonic powers. Spear and Fang are completely overwhelmed and start to retreat atop a highest mountain. However, this does not stop the Chieftain for he converts himself into a gigantic fire serpent and slithers after them up the mountain. With nowhere left to run, Spear and Fang had no other choice expect to face the Chieftain in a battle to the death.

The Chieftain attempted to kill Fang with his powers, but the t-rex managed to save herself when she performed a “stopped, dropped, and roll” technique which put the fire out. Spear decides to take the Chieftain head on himself in order to keep Fang safe, but he ends up getting tragically burned in the process. For Spear made a dire noble sacrifice when he shoves himself onto the Chieftain and were both tumble all the way down towards the bottom of the mountain. Extremely burned, Spear laid motionless upon the ground, where the Chieftain believed that he'd won, and his vengeance is now at hand. However, just before he could cause anymore harm or destruction, that enormous being soon betrayed the Chieftain as its own hand arose from the surface and grabbed him thus had stripped him of his powers as the Chieftain reverted back to normal. He is then once again dragged back down into the underworld with the Chieftain’s own soul now forever claimed.
