Chupacabras are a species of sociable animals that inhabit Mexico.

Biology[]

Adult Chupacabras are large creatures, speculated to weigh between 500 and 800 pounds (~ 226 to 362 kg). They are feathered mammals with six limbs (two pairs of legs and a pair of wings), and a long prehensile tail. Despite being quadrupedal, the forelimbs are noticeably more developed, and equipped with opposeable thumbs that allow them to hold objects with their paws if they wish to. Chupacabras have two pairs of fangs on their lower jaws, and their claws are retractable. Their wings are so strong that even a juvenile can fly for short distances while carrying the weight of a young human.

As the name Chupacabra ("goat-sucker" in Spanish) indicates, these creatures feed on the blood of goats and other animals. Their attacks aren't always fatal, as the Chupacabra's own blood has healing properties, which allow them not only to regenerate from injuries, but to heal the wounds of other animals, including (at least in some cases) their own prey.

Chupacabras are intelligent, sociable creatures which live in groups and are very protective of their young. They make bird-like vocalizations and howl to communicate over long distances. They exhibit no hostility towards humans, unless being threatened or provoked.
