Cobblies are a species of monstrous beasts which inhabit parallel versions of Earth. The psychically-inclined dogs can sometimes detect their presence, and eventually developed the means to explore their worlds.
Biology[]
Little is known about the Cobblies other than that they have skull-like faces with slitted eyes and tentacles. Despite their otherworldly nature, they are still corporeal beings, which can kill and be killed by men.
History[]
Following the collapse of civilization on Earth and the mass migration of most humans to Jupiter, the intelligent dogs and robots developed their own society, in which murder was unknown. The robot Jenkins; built back in the time when man was still dominant; at first tried to have the remaining humans integrated in this new society, but when one of them accidentally invented a bow and arrow and used it to kill a bird, Jenkins realized that men would always be a threat, and that sooner or later, that would mean destruction for this world. His solution was to relocate the humans to one of the parallel Earths: a vibrant place where they could build their own society. Reflecting on the fact that there were Cobblies living in that parallel Earth, Jenkins couldn't help but feel sorry for the Cobblies.
