The Demogorgons are an interdimensional species of bloodthirsty predacious creatures that originate from a mysterious realm known as the Upside Down. They're also mentally controlled by the Mind Flayer and Vecna.
Biology[]
A Demogorgon has at least six stages within its life cycle.
Stage One[]
In their first stage, they resemble a garden slug, with dark brownish-green coloration marked with bright yellow spots. The larvae can inhabit human bodies, weather dead or alive, as they're known to have infected victims such as Will Byers and Barb Holland.
Stage Two[]
The second stage resembles an oversized terrestrial tadpole with a pair of front legs.
Stage Three[]
In the third stage, the creature develops a pair of hind legs, thus becoming quadrupedal.
Stage Four[]
The fourth stage becomes considerably larger and more dog-like, no longer crawling but walking. It also develops its characteristic multi-part mandibles which open up like a flower.
Stage Five[]
The fifth stage has been nicknamed "Demodog" and increases in size considerably, being now comparable to a wolf in both physical shape and behavior, as they are known to form packs. Unlike wolves, however, they are also excellent tunnellers.
Stage Six[]
In the sixth and (as far as it's known) final stage, the Demogorgon becomes a man-sized biped and loses its tail completely, rendering it as a much more humanoid creature than its previous stages. Adult Demogorgons are exceptionally strong and capable of travelling between dimensions at will. They also appear to have some degree of telekinesis. Known to be very aggressive when starved.
