This is a hypothetical distant future plant, presented as a speculative possibility regarding how the vegetable kingdom may evolve in the distant future, way beyond 50 million years AD.
Biology[]
While modern plants typically produce a huge number of seeds, of which few will survive to reach maturity; the distant future plant has switched to being a K-strategist. It produces seeds that; although fertilized in the traditional way; never drop to the ground and remain with the parent as they grow. Symbiotic herbivores then carefully remove them and plant them on the ground so they can take root, in a place under direct sunlight.
