Electro Spumes are a species of medium-sized salamander that was encountered by Skyloftians before the founding of Hyrule. They inhabit the Lanayru Province, and can be found throughout its borders, including the Lanayru Desert, the Lanayru Mining Facility and the ancient lake. Despite their abundance during the Era of the Sky, they have not been recorded since this time and may have been driven to extinction between then and the Force Era. Deku Toads, seen millennia later, are physically similar to the Spumes and may in fact be descended from them, or at the very least the two are closely related.
Electro Spumes, unlike their Eldinian cousins, may not be extremophiles, as they inhabit sinksand -- a substance similar to quicksand and therefore likely inundated with water. Although the desert is certainly very hot, they submerge most of their bodies under the sinksand and therefore would keep cool. They are expected to very quickly desiccate should they removed from their sinksand homes.
They are both territorial and shy, diving into the sinksand should an opponent get too close. They have developed the ability to produce a wad-like projectile made of an unknown substance which easily conducts electricity. These projectiles prove more dangerous than those of their Magma-based cousins, and trying to slice these objects in half will lead to being eletrocuted.
Adventurers can defend themselves from Electro Spumes with bombs or bows, although the wielder of the Goddess Sword could also take them out with Skyward Strikes. Projectiles could be blocked -- though not reflected back -- through the use of appropriate shield bashes, though the wielder must keep in mind that being electric-based projectiles means that iron shields will be destroyed. The projectiles can also be rendered ineffective through slashes with one's sword.
