Elemelons are a type of living food from the Chowder Universe.
As the name suggests, Elemelons are very large melons resembling Elephants. Domesticated, Elemelons are farmed for their fruit juice, which is extracted through their trunk by squeezing them through a giant juicer. The process is harmless to the fruit, but does shrink them down to palm-sized version briefly before they grow back to their normal size.
They give their first and only debut in the episode titled: “Elemelons” where, truffles gets locked in a cage with “Watermelon-Elephants” or “Elemelons” after mung daal traps her in there for, not only, berating and being condescending to him but also because she upsets the elemelons and stops their progress by tying the Elemelons trunks in a knot to shut them up. this is because the Elemelons woke her up from her “cutie-sleep” with their loud trumpeting during the juicing process.
After being trapped inside with them, truffles attempts to use various methods to get the Elemelons to simply obey. Threats, Intimidation, Violence. yet, surprisingly, not a single one worked.
after speaking with chowder, truffles gains the knowledge that to most people, she’s scary. This drastically contrasts the image she painted for herself as some adorable, well tempered, skinny legend, manic pixie dream girl.
after having to sit with the truth for the night… that she’s “scary” truffles decides to try something with the Elemons she didn’t think to try before. She tries kindness and sharing. She offers her food to the elemelons making an effort and the “alpha” melon steps up to make sure it’s not poison. Which, unsurprisingly, it is- because it’s mung daals cooking. The Elemelon spits out the food and truffles bonds with them over how terrible her husbands cooking is, as, she also agrees it tastes like poison.
despite there being a slight language barrier, truffles doesn’t fail to befriend the Elemelons and still make conscious effort to try to understand the bits and pieces of what they are saying.
after a cute little montage of the girlies bonding, and cute goodnight kisses, truffles finally is able to get the Elemons to give her juice by the morning. She expresses to mung daal how much fun she had (with 0 gratitude, rightfully) and after walking out of the cage her and the Elemelons trap the boys inside. “It’s hard being a strong willed woman isn’t? You have opinions, they lock you in a cage…Radda” - The boys.
It can be assumed that, because theyre are fruit and are no longer seen in future episodes, they have rotted away and died, fairly quickly too. Dutchess already looked sickly enough.
