Epioth are submissive, water-dwelling herbivores that subsist on water grasses and moss.
Overview[]
Epioth frequently surface to sunbathe. Extremely timid, they panic when danger is near, swimming about in a haphazard fashion. The Epioth is described as a marine version of the land dwelling Aptonoth; both are very low in the food chain. It has not been known to ever leave the water, not even to reproduce (they are viviparous). They feed mainly on weeds, water grasses, and algae. Their ability to swim quickly and haphazardly, and their numbers, are their best defense against their natural predators. Unlike the Aptonoth, Epioth live in small groups rather than large herds. The reason for this being that the water, whether in the sea or jungle river, has abundant hiding places. They are very timid when danger is close. They will attack humans if threatened, however.
