Mukhtars, a.k.a. Genie Hunters, are a sapient race of reptilian humanoids specifically bred to hunt down Jinn. By the time of Aladdin, the Mukhtar species is almost extinct, with only one known individual remaining.
Biology[]
Members of this species are humanoids with no tail. Each hand has three long fingers as well as an opposable thumb. They can track Jinn by scent (as they can smell magic), run extremely fast and leap over long distances. They tend to speak with a sibilant "S" reminiscent of a snake.
Culture and society[]
They typically carry magical accessories with them, such as a lamp capable of catching and containing the Jinni. Despite their ruthlessness, Mukhtars are a honorable race who believe in paying their debts to those who helped them.
