The Flunkey (Alesimia lapsus) is a very small descendant of modern African monkeys which inhabits the African rainforests about 50 million years in the future.
Biology[]
Although not related to them, the Flunkey resembles a modern-day marmoset, but with flaps of skin linking its limbs to its body, which enable it to glide through the treetops, much like a flying squirrel, colugo or sugar glider. It uses its tail to steer its body and can glide for distances of over 40 meters.
The Flunkey's backbone and limb bones are described as exceptionally strong compared to its body size. Its diet consists mainly of fruits and leaves, but also includes small insects such as termites.
