Flyboy was a companion to Napoleon Bonafrog after his mutation into the half-man, half-horned lizard, mistaken for a frog as a member of the Punk Frogs (due to the common nickname for horned lizards being "horny toads"). The two presumably met in their home environment, the Okeefenokee Swamp on the border between Florida and Georgia.
Flyboy served as a literal "fly on the wall" for his friend, and would feed him and the turtles information on the Foot Clan's schemes.

- Although Napoleon Bonafrog returned in the 2012 TMNT cartoon (this time as a wildly different character and as an actual frog), Flyboy did not return with him, effectively retconning him out of existence like the other Animal Buddies of various Ninja Turtle characters.
