A Gallimimus is an ornithomimid dinosaur that appears in the Jurassic Park series.
Overview[]
Originally from the Cretaceous era, The Gallimimus is one of the many altered dinosaurs that were successfully recreated by InGen during the early stages of the original Jurassic Park. It had pronated hands due to the Null allele created from the mutation and manipulation of its genes from modern animals, including frog, reptile, and bird DNA; like all the other dinosaurs cloned by InGen, it lacked feathers.
The dinosaurs have appeared multiply times in the films, including the scene in Jurassic Park, where Dr. Alan Grant, Lex, and Tim witness the flock of Gallimimus' stampeding towards them causing them to run. When Grant and the children hid in the log, the T-rex appeared out of the forest and ate a single Gallimimus.
In 2018, multiple Gallimimus were taken to Lockwood Manor from an erupting Isla Nublar to be auctioned off. Later, Maisie Lockwood set the animals free into the wilds of Northern California.
The Gallimimus now currently roams North America's ecosystem.
