The Gannetwhale is a descendant of modern gannets which has evolved into a flightless, seal-like ocean bird about 5 million years in the future, when the Earth is going through an ice age.
Biology[]
This species spends most of its life in the sea, but can be found on the shores of northern Europe, especially during the breeding season when the females lay a single egg and clutch it under their tails to prevent it from freezing. Meanwhile, the males hunt for fish in the oceans to bring back and feed to their mates.
In appearance, Gannetwhales mostly resemble seals, but possess a long narrow beak used for capturing fish. When threatened by a predator on land, such as a Snowstalker, they can regurgitate foul-smelling semi-digested food in order to drive the aggressor away.
