Genesect is a Bug/Steel-type Pokémon species.
The original form of this species lived 300 million years ago. They were intelligent, social creatures which spun strings of web from their arms to build their communal nests. Modern Genesect were revived from fossilized remains by Team Plasma and augmented with technology that turned them into cyborgs, most notably equipped with a large cannon on their backs, and capable of shifting into their high speed flight mode to become more aerodynamic.
Genesect's Techno Blast attack changes type depending on what kind of Drive it's holding.
