Gliscor is a Ground/Flying-type Pokémon species, with a peculiar appearance that combines scorpionid and chiropteran features. Its juvenile stage is called Gligar, and can only evolve into Gliscor at night while holding an item known as the Razor Fang.

Biology[]

Gligar and Gliscor are bipedal creatures with a venomous, scorpion-like tail and pincers. They have gliding membranes, sharp fangs, and long bat-like ears. They're commonly found in mountains. Wild populations are known to occur in Johto, Sinnoh, and Unova.

Gligar[]

Gligar

Known as the "Fly Scorpion Pokémon", Gligar is a purple creature with blue membranes under its arms that allow it to glide over long distances. It has a segmented tail resembling that of a scorpion, complete with a stinger at the tip. Its legs are short and its feet have only one claw. Its arms end in large chelae. The head is proportionally large and has a grotesque appearance due to its sharp fangs and broad tongue that regularly sticks out of its mouth. Its ears are very long and triangular. The female's stinger is smaller.

Gligar use their claws to cling to the walls of cliffs or to the bark of trees. When they spot their prey, they glide silently towards it, targeting the victim's face to inject venom.

Gliscor[]

Gliscor is also known as the "Fang Scorpion Pokémon". It is a two-meters tall creature, practically twice as tall as Gligar, but curiously, it weighs much less than its previous stage, which might have to do with its skeletal physique and increased gliding capabilities. Its coloration is now grey, its membranous wings are black, and its eyes are yellow. Its feet now have two claws rather than one, and its tail stinger has two barbs.

Gliscor is often found hanging upside down from tree branches. When it detects prey, it swoops and glides towards it. Like Gligar, it moves through the air without making any sound.
