Golduck is a Water-type Pokémon species first identified in the Kanto region. Its juvenile stage is known as Psyduck. Although they aren't psychic-types, both Psyduck and Golduck are known to possess latent psychic abilities. According to Pokédex entries, Golduck is often mistaken for a Kappa.
Biology[]
Golduck is a bipedal reptilian blue-colored creature with a duck-like bill and a red gemstone on its forehead. Its hands and feed are webbed and clawed, and it possesses a relatively long tail. It makes its home in placid lakes and rivers, where it hunts for fish, and is more active at dusk.
This Pokémon is a highly adept swimmer and can effortlessly surpass gold medalists in speed. Some Pokédex entries go as far as to describe it as the fastest-swimming Pokémon. Although its natural habitat is freshwater, it can also venture into the roughest seas and has been observed to rescue people from shipwrecks. It can swim for two days straight without feeling exhaustion.
When the gem on its forehead glows, Golduck can display psychic abilities, up to and including telekinesis. In the past, however, the idea that the gem would grant supernatural abilities to those who possessed it has led to Golduck being overhunted.
Wild populations of Golduck can be found in the regions of Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, Unova and Alola.

Golduck's juvenile stage is called Psyduck and, unlike Golduck, is a short, rotund, yellow-colored creature. It stands about 80 cm in height and weighs 19.6 kg. It is most well-known for suffering from nearly constant headaches, which, when severe enough, allow it to unleash mysterious and powerful psychic attacks. After that happens, however, Psyduck will display no memory of such episodes, which explains its puzzled expression.
Psyduck is a relatively common Pokémon, which can be found in several areas of Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, Kalos and Alola.
