Golisopod is a Bug/Water-type Pokémon species from the Alola region. Its juvenile stage is known as Wimpod.

Biology[]

Wimpod and Golisopod are crustacean-like Pokémon that resemble sea-dwelling isopods (although Golisopod, being bipedal, is far more humanoid in shape). They're most (in)famous for their cautious nature which may cause them to back off from battle when feeling intimidated.

Wimpod[]

Wimpod

Wimpod is a relatively small Pokémon. Its body is silver and purple in coloration, with yellow eyes, and a couple of long antennae. It is an opportunistic scavenger whose diet includes anything it can find, no matter how rotten.

Wimpod can live in a wide range of habitats, from beaches to the seabed. In spite of its coward nature, it is a very curious creature and habitually picks up objects it finds on the ground, including coins.

Golisopod[]

When Wimpod evolves, it quadruples in height and becomes nine times as heavy as before. Its body becomes bipedal, and it gains three pairs of arms, the main one very strong and equipped with two retractable sharp claws. Its eyes go from yellow to black. Its carapace is as hard as diamond.

Golisopod is a fierce combatant in battle, but outside of it, it is a peaceful creature, and spends most of its time meditating in underwater caves, sometimes accompanied by Wimpod.
