Goodra is a Dragon-type Pokémon species from the region of Kalos. It has a juvenile stage called Goomy, and an intermediary stage called Sliggoo. However, Sliggoo can only evolve into Goodra during fog or rain.

Biology[]

Goodra is a dragon-like creature, but seems to have gastropod affinities, which manifest in its slimy skin, fleshy horns, and the fact that Goomy and Sliggoo are both gastropod Pokémon. Wild populations of this species are known to inhabit the regions of Kalos and Alola.

All three stages have smooth lilac skin and green spots. The rare shiny variants, on the other hand, are light-yellow with dark blue spots.

Goomy[]

Goomy

The first stage, Goomy, is a slug-like Pokémon with a couple of beady black eyes and two pairs of sensorial horns. It requires humidity to live and is very vulnerable to dehydration, so it seeks shady places.

Described as the weakest of dragon-types, its slimy membranous skin does confer it protection against physical attacks. Its horns are very sensitive, however, so grabbing them is an efficient way to immobilize it.

Sliggoo[]

Sliggoo

Sliggoo is a medium-sized creature resembling a snail, complete with a vaguely shell-like formation on its back, which actually houses its brain and other organs. It also has stubby arms with no digits, and green oval eyes. These eyes have degenerated upon evolution, so Sliggoo is practically blind, but this is compensated by its very sensitive horns, which act as a sophisticated radar system and can pick up sounds and scents.

Sliggoo is most well-known for secreting a powerful digestive mucus to dissolve prey before eating it, since it has no teeth. Unfortunately, this Pokémon doesn't make much of a distinction between its friends and potential food sources, so it will frequently attempt to melt down its own companions.

Sliggoo's evolution into Goodra is weather-dependent: it can only evolve when it's raining or there's fog covering the area. Summoning rain with a battle move (such as Rain Dance) or ability (such as Drizzle) will not trigger its evolution.

Goodra[]

The final stage, Goodra, is a two-meter tall, wingless, draconian biped. It has stout limbs with two fingers on each hand, and two toes on each foot. Its eyes are still green, but now have white sclerae, which makes them more human-like.

Goodra is known for its friendliness and propensity to hug, which can be a potentially unpleasant experience, due to its slime-covered skin. When in battle, it can attack with its retractable horns and tail. Its punches have been described as hitting with the strength of a hundred professional boxers.
