Heracross is a Bug/Fighting-type Pokémon species originally identified in the Johto region.
Exposure to the Mega Stone known as Heracronite results in its temporary transformation into the form known as Mega Heracross.
Biology[]
Heracross is a large bipedal insectoid, resembling a scarab beetle. Unlike real beetles, however, its body doesn't appear to be segmented, it has only four limbs (two long arms and two short legs), and its eyes don't seem to be compound. Its wings are rarely visible and it's not very good at flight. Its coloration is dark blue (the rare shiny variant is magenta), and its eyes are yellow. Its arms have two claws and its feet have one. Its antennae are short and it has a large pronged horn on its head. Females have a heart-shaped horn.
Heracross lives in forests where it feeds on tree sap and honey. Sometimes it will try to feed on the sap of grass-type Pokémon, such as Bulbasaur. Its behavior is usually docile, but it may attack if interrupted while eating. Its physical strength is formidable, as it's capable of toppling trees, lifting objects 100 times heavier than itself, and sending opponents flying away by lifting and flinging them with its horn.
Wild populations of this species occur in the regions of Johto, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, and Alola, where local Heracross sometimes engage in disputes with Vikavolt.
