Infected people are humans who've been contaminated with an unknown virus; a mutant form of rabies which turned them feral.
Overview[]
While little to nothing is known about the rabies virus itself; once infected, victims will experience major foaming from their mouth, body spasm and fever before they completely turn feral. It can be transmitted typically by getting bitten by whoever already has the infection. They also develop an allergic reaction towards bright light.
The virus first began in Los Angeles; from within a local apartment building where an elderly woman, Mrs. Espinosa started screaming when later she aggressively had bitten both James McCreedy and George Fletcher. Following an immediate quarantine and before long, everyone in the building were either killed or became contaminated with the virus which later spread to the Kansas City metropolitan area after a passenger aboard an airplane, was bitten by a lab rat which in turn became infected and all efforts to contain this virus failed.
