Jellicent is a Water/Ghost-type Pokémon species originally identified in Unova. Its juvenile stage is known as Frillish. Both stages are notable for their sexual dimorphism and distinctly regal appearance.
Biology[]
Frillish and Jellicent are free-swimming jellyfish-like Pokémon from the deep oceans. Their sexual dimorphism is most notable in their color schemes, with the males being light-blue and the females light-pink. Both sexes have an appearance that combines delicateness, friendliness and a monarchical aspect; the latter transmitted by their crown-shaped structures on top of their heads, and their polypous bodies being reminiscent of royal apparel.
The coloration of their eyes is another aspect of the dimorphism. Both sexes have white pupils, but the males have red irises and dark-blue sclerae, while the females have the opposite. The shape of their frills and limbs are also distinct. Their five limbs are arranged in such way that two of them resemble arms, while the other three look like parts of a dress or robe.
Frillish[]

Frillish are slender, delicate-looking creatures with a youthful regal appearance. Fittingly, the males look like princes and the females resemble princesses.
Living in oceanic depths, about 8 km beneath the surface, these Pokémon are carnivorous and embrace prey with their veil-like limbs, paralyzing it with toxins and then sinking down to the bottom of the ocean to feed.
Jellicent[]
When Frillish evolve into Jellicent, they become almost twice as large and four-times heavier. Their heads are now disproportionally big compared to the small bodies, and their regal looks are "upgraded" so that the males look like kings with fancy mustaches, and the females resemble queens with puffy collars.
Jellicent are composed mostly of seawater, and swim by absorbing and expelling water from their bodies. They form schools which gather near the sea surface under full moons to look out for prey.
Despite their friendly and goofy-looking appearance, Jellicent are an ominous sight for sailors. Vessels that wander into Jellicent territories are invariably sunken and the crews are devoured by these creatures. As ghost-types, they feed on the prey's life energy. Legends tell of underwater castles made up of piles of ships sunken by this Pokémon, and used as lairs by them.
