The Jmu are a sapient race of South American simians which evolved after the demise of humans and became the dominant civilization on Earth about five to ten million years in the future. They belong to the Cebidae family and descend from capuchin monkeys.
Biology[]
Although their overall morphology is described as "anthropoid", members of this species still have the long prehensile tail that denounces their status as monkeys, not apes.
They weigh circa 150 pounds (~ 68 kg). Their bodies are covered in thick brown and black hair. Their feet have thumb-like opposable halluces. They have prognathous faces with large eyes and no nose; only a pair of narrow nostrils, set wide apart. A guttural grating noise is their equivalent of laughter.
Despite their dense fur covering, members of this species are particularly sensitive to cold temperatures. Besides their natural climbing abilities, they are also adept swimmers, being able to swim instinctively as soon as they're able to walk
Culture and society[]
They have domesticated a species of Giant Agoutis, and use them as mounts.
