Jorgen is a Giant and the last known guardian who protected Earth.
Biology[]
Like others of his race, Jorgen is a colossal being who towers over the trees, houses and even the mountains of the landscape. Several people could fit comfortably on the palm of his hand.
In terms of anatomy, he is a plantigrade humanoid, entirely covered in dark fur, with a very elongated neck and blank white eyes. Although he's capable of speech, his mouth is not visible. His nose and ears are shaped like semicircles, and seem to be made out of stone. His hands have four fingers, including an opposable thumb; while his feet have no toes.
As a Giant, he is extremely long-lived and can jump extreme heights, possibly high enough to escape the gravity of Earth and launch himself into space. It's likely that Giants can survive in space for long periods, possibly even forever.
History[]
For thousands of years, Jorgen has fulfilled his role as sentinel, watching and guarding over the valley.
When the other Giants decided to leave to the stars, Jorgen remained behind to wait for his friend. Unbeknownst to him, however, she overslept until snow covered her ears and prevented her from hearing his calls.
Jorgen still waited for her every night for centuries; possibly millennia; before a conversation with Hilda finally gave him the idea that his friend might have abandoned him, or even forgotten him. Fortunately, however, this proved not to be the case, as Hilda found out that the mountain in which the Elf king's palace was located was actually the body of the sleeping female Giant. With that knowledge, Hilda managed to awaken her, and the two friends were reunited at last and jumped to the sky, presumably to join the others of their species.
Unfortunately, before they left, either Jorgen or his friend accidentally stepped on and destroyed Hilda's house without noticing: an incident that forced Hilda, Johanna and Twig to move to the city of Trolberg.
