Lurantis is a Grass-type Pokémon species from the Alolan archipelago. Its juvenile stage is known as Fomantis.
Biology[]
This Pokémon's appearance loosely resembles a bipedal flower mantis with features of an orchid. It uses its flower-like appearance and aroma to lure opponents closer and defeat them with the keen-edged blade-like petals in its arms. It can also fire beams from these petals, which are strong enough to cut through metal plates.
When a Lurantis attacks opponents, it looks like it's dancing. This, combined with its elegant appearance, has earned it reputation as the most glamorous of all Grass-types.
Most individuals of this species have a light pink and hot pink pattern of coloration. The shiny variant, in contrast, is yellow and green. Lurantis' vivid coloration requires a lot of effort to care for.
Fomantis[]

Lurantis' juvenile stage is a short bipedal creature. Despite gaining energy from photosynthesis, Fomantis has nocturnal habits, although it can only evolve to Lurantis during the day. It usually spends the days sleeping while gathering energy from the sun, and moves around at night in order to find a new place for its next sleeping period.
Like Lurantis, Fomantis emanates a sweet and refreshing scent which can sometimes attract Cutiefly. The more it bathes in sunlight, the more vivid its coloration becomes.
