"Malcolmus Pterosauri" (Malcolm's Pterosaur) is a newly-discovered species of small Pterosaur. It is named after Malcolm Wallace.
Biology[]
Anatomy[]
These pterosaurs lived during the late Cretaceous peroid, but have a number of adaptations and details that mirror small pterosaurs millions of years prior, the most notable detail being their long tail with notable skin flaps along the end. This discovery at first placed them as a late-evolving Rhamphorhynchid, but later studies of the skull and toothless beak suggest a different group entirely.
The Pterosaurs themselves grow to about the size of a Crow.
Behavior[]
They are highly sociable Pterosaurs, and are commonly found in large flocks known as swarms. While more commonly found by coastal regions, hundreds of them travel inland during breeding periods, where their young can grow in isolation. Once they're old enough to fly, they return to the coasts to fully mature.
Malcolm's Pterosaurs are highly territorial, attacking intruders to their breeding grounds in large swarms. In some cases, this can result in killing the intruder.
