Mark Harris is an identity given to an amnesic man with webbed hands who was found unconscious on a beach after a sea storm. His real name and origins remain unknown, although he's believed to have originated from the lost continent of Atlantis.
Biology[]
Physically, he looks perfectly human, with the exception of his webbed hands. His eyes are sensitive to sunlight, requiring him to wear shades when on land. The interior of his chest has gill-like membranes in place of normal lung tissue, which are adapted to extract oxygen from water. His skin has features of a dolphin's. On land, he tires easily, and starts to dehydrate whenever he spends more than 12 hours away from water.
Underwater, however, Harris has superhuman strength and agility. He can resist the pressure of over 30,000 feet under the sea and his eyes are adapted to see even in near abyssal darkness. He can swim as fast as a dolphin and jump several feet out of water. It's not known how he learned English, but his ability to understand the language of whales suggests that he might have some natural telepathy.
Exposure to extremely intense lights can blind him temporarily, although an inner eyelid prevents the effects from being permanent. He can also stop his pulse voluntarily in order to simulate death.

- In The Death Scouts, the alien Lioa tells Harris that he's also an alien from the same planet as hers. However, that was never confirmed and was heavily implied to have been a deception on her part.
