Mawile is a Steel/Fairy-type Pokémon species originally identified in the region of Hoenn. Known as the "Deceiver Pokémon", it is most easily identified by the huge jaw-like appendages protruding from the back of its head.
Exposure to the Mega Stone known as Mawilite causes this Pokémon to temporarily transform into Mega Mawile.
Biology[]
Mawile is a cream-colored, red-eyed, 60 cm tall humanoid with a relatively innocent appearance when seen from the front. Seen from behind, however, it has a pair of giant black appendages resembling jaws protruding from the back of its head. While these are not actual jaws, they are metallic-based mobile structures which can be used to bite prey and are strong enough to chew through an iron beam.
Mawile's moniker, the "Deceiver Pokémon", comes from it taking advantage of its docile-looking face to lull its victims into a false sense of security before turning around and biting them with its steel jaws.
Wild Mawile populations are known to inhabit certain caves in the regions of Hoenn, Kalos, and Alola.
