Mismagius is a Ghost-type Pokémon species whose juvenile stage is known as Misdreavus, which evolves into its mature stage when exposed to a Dusk Stone.
Biology[]
This wraith-like creature is purple in coloration and has a roughly conical shape, reminiscent of a tattered dress. On top of it is a round head partially obscured by another conical structure which looks like a classical witch's hat. Like many ghost-types, this Pokémon is limbless and moves around by levitating.
Mismagius is most well-known for its incantation cries, which have the power to affect the mind of the listener in multiple ways. Some cries will cause headaches, terrifying hallucinations and other torments for its victims, while others may provoke happiness by generating pleasant, even blissful illusions. It's said that some cries have the power to make people fall in love as well.
Misdreavus[]
Misdreavus is noted as a highly mischievous spirit, whose greatest pleasure is to frighten people with its cries and wails at night. Sometimes it will go as far as to bite people or yank their hair from behind just to provoke fear, which this Pokémon feeds upon.
The red spheres on its neck actually serve to absorb the fear from its victims and convert it into usable nourishment. As a nocturnal creature, it spends the daytime sleeping in dark spots.
Wild populations of this species are known to exist in the regions of Johto, Sinnoh, Unova and Alola.
