Mr. Mime is a Psychic/Fairy-type Pokémon species, so named for its imitative and performative nature. It has also been nicknamed the "Barrier Pokémon" for its ability to create real invisible walls around itself. As the honorific "Mr." is merely part of the species' name, female members of this race are still referred to as "Mr. Mime".
It also has an immature juvenile stage called Mime Jr., which evolves into Mr. Mime after learning the move Mimic.
Its Galarian subspecies is an Ice/Psychic-type and has a mature stage known as Mr. Rime.
Biology[]
Mr. Mime is a medium-sized humanoid creature with broad, five-fingered hands and toe-less feet which are curved upwards, in a shape reminiscent of traditional jester shoes. Similarly, the blue horns on its head are shaped like a cross between a harlequin's hat and the fancy hairstyle of a clown.
From the moment it's born, a Mr. Mime excels in the art of pantomime and seems to dedicate its life to entertaining those around it. Its most notable ability is to rapidly vibrate its fingertips in a way that allows it to solidify air molecules and create invisible barriers and objects. In combat, it likes to mislead its opponents by making them believe something exists which really doesn't. Once believed, the imaginary object behaves as if it was truly real, thanks to Mr. Mime's psychic powers.
Wild populations of this species are known to exist in the regions of Kanto, Sinnoh and Alola. Although generally friendly, this Pokémon is well known for slapping people if they happen to interrupt its performances.
