Mutants (Homo superior or Homo sapiens superior) are a subspecies of Human with various powers granted by the X-gene. Typically, most of humanity is accepting of Mutants.
Biology[]
Mutants are a Human subspecies characterized by the presence of the x-gene. The x-gene may be active at birth or it may remain dormant until puberty or, in some cases, adulthood. The level of mutation caused by the x-gene varies from person to person. For example, Andrea Hobbes only has a bizarre appearance while Absolon Mercator can manipulate matter and energy on a subatomic scale resulting in nigh-omnipotence.

Notes[]
- When asked if there was a way to differentiate between Mutants and Inhumans, Tom Brevoort joked that all Inhumans were left-handed.
