Norma Deathman is a woman who had a prominent career as a horror film actress in the early 20th century, when she was known as the "Horror Movie Queen". Secretly, she is also a centuries-old, perpetually young-looking vampire. Norma's last film, Fangs for the Memories, was released in 1933. After that, she retired and refused to make any public appearances or even to speak to the press.

Fifty years later, the famous detectives Scooby-Doo, Shaggy Rogers, Scrappy-Doo and Daphne Blake - who were at the time working as reporters - managed to infiltrate Norma's mansion disguising themselves as caterers as she was organizing a birthday party. When she took off her veil they were surprised to find out that she still looked exactly as she did in her old days. As it turns out, Norma was celebrating her 300 years birthday.

Norma Deathman has a monstrous butler named Franklin Stein and a pet werewolf named Woof Woof. She and her monstrous companions appear to enjoy food that is considered strange by humans. She also plays the pipe organ.
