Oogway is an elderly tortoise that appears in the Kung Fu Panda franchise.
Overview[]
Hailed from the Galapagos Islands, Oogway is known as the founder of Kung Fu and a previous headmaster of the Jade Palace during Medieval China, he was shown to be a wise, kind, and caring individual opposed to Master Shifu, although being respected by him. He spent all his entire life to preserve the art of Kung Fu as a force of good and had a chance to locate the Dragon Warrior before ascending into the Heavens.

- His name is clearly Chinese for Tortoise.
- When Oogway vanishes into the heavens, his death is similar to the passing of Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Star Wars series.
