Oranguru is a Normal/Psychic-type Pokémon species from the Alolan archipelago. Renowned for its intelligence, it is also known as the "Sage Pokémon".
Biology[]
Oranguru is an ape-like Pokémon that stands about 1.5 meters in height and weighs 76 kg. It walks bipedally and has no tail. Its hands and feet have five digits, including an opposable thumb. Its skin is grey, as seen on its hands, feet, and muzzle, but the rest of its face is black. Its fur is mostly white, but it also has long purple fur growing like a cape over its back and shoulders, with blue and orange streaks. An orange four-point star decorates its forehead. Its eyes have yellow irises, orange sclerae, and light-blue eyebags.
Culture and society[]
Oranguru is a sapient species, capable of using human technology and managing businesses such as "Oranguru's place", a forest café staffed by Pokémon. Oranguru can use their intellect to help other Pokémon and people, but are also known to order other Pokémon around, going as far as to employ Poké Balls, just like a human being. They tend to look down upon inexperienced trainers, although they might respect veterans.
Their habits are solitary. When two Oranguru get together, they will compete in battles of wits to compare their intellects. They spend most of their time deep in the forests, meditating on top of trees, but are also known to venture into the beaches to match wits with Slowking.
